《那些年，我們一起追的女孩》 (You are the apple of my eye)
I had never had such interest in Chinese novels because, well, I don't find them express as well as English novels. Besides, I rarely read English Romance Novels. However, it was one book that all my friends recommended. It was pretty like that moment a few years ago when everyone was reading twilight..
Personally, I think the book is really sweet that maybe melts all the girls hearts as they envy the way the guys chase after the girl. I must say, the basic plot is practically our everyday highschool romance type of life. But, the only difference is, this love story don't have a happy ending. They way the guy chases the girl is also pretty unique that makes him stands out from the rest of the guys. I was extremely interested in the couple of songs that the author had composed when he was young (it was his real-life story). I really love his 那些年, it captures many memories of his highschool life. The emotions were conveyed really well. I admire (:
HOWEVER, I don't understand why such a flawless story can make me feel disappointed :/ Maybe I had expected too much(?)
1st, I think things zoomed way too fast.
2nd, It was like way awkward.. they just broke up like that? Wow? And his best friend just came in? And the other friend who race across the country to find her, found the main character and they end up in a fight? I think I must re-read the story again ._.
3rd, I don't really know, something is missing. It doesn't feels like, "Man, It's an awesome Show! I have to re-watch! I have to ask more people to come and watch" Neh, it was more like.. " That's it? That's the movie I had anticipated over a week?"
So personally, I would rather just read the book... It's better. PLUS, I totally understand why it was rated NC16 -.- I thought those stuffs that made it NC 16 was pretty redundant.. It could have been better use to develop and express the guy's affection for the girl.. (Anyways, I can't believe they let me in :D The lady just wanted to check we have student id card and that's that :DD)
Ohh, and the girl is wayyyyy too old for the guy. Dude, Ko Chen-Tung is like 20 years old, and Michelle Chen is like 28. Both of them playing age of 16? Wows.... I mean well,.. I understand.. but she still looks old.. so the guy chasing her is pretty hard to understand..
BIG BIG BIG applause to Ko Chen Tung! HE ACTED REALLY REALLY REALLY WELL! Omg, besides his looks, I was totally stunned by his acting. It was way too real. I wouldn't have such a big reaction if it wasn't the last part. He actually kissed a _____(make your guesses, smart one). Maybe to actors it ain't big deal, but from what I know, it was his debut acting. I'm amazed. Even Kdrama that is so hot that they are selling off the racks so fast have veteran actors and actresses that acted... just so-so. This rookie guy is sure something. I heard he is releasing an album soon, I'm gonna be a fan then (:
Overall rating 3.5/5.. Yeah, I'm disappointed. It can still have such great rating is because of Ko Chen Tung.. I mean, Michelle Chen's crying is.. kinda awkward... I mean he was awkward,.. she was awkward.. every one was awkward.. I don't know. But Ko was really really good. I hope he gets into a good agency that develops his talent well (: But I'm sure this movie had already garnered him much popularity(: Especially he is the most good looking among the rest :P
FOR THOSE who have yet to read the book... you may wanna watch.. FOR THOSE who read the book,.. I don't know.. don't have such big expectations on the fantastic plots
